When I first heard of the Garden Shears by Emma Deterding a few years ago, I was instantly drawn to it. It seemed like a great gift idea; what could I say about a gift that has everything I love about gardening in a compact package? After all, gardening tools are often the centerpiece of any garden. It is just like when you go to a party and there are so many different kinds of candles, flowers, decorations and so on that you get confused which candle to light up next because they are all so beautiful and unique.
It was only when I started browsing the internet did I realize just how many different types of garden shears are available! There is the Stihl T series by Stihl, which is a very durable and versatile little tool. There is also the Hitachi Tourmaline Cane, which is one of the newest additions to the garden shears lineup. The tourmaline is the lightest of the bunch and offers a huge range of versatility and use.
Emma Deterding’s garden shears are no exception to this rule. Each one of her tools is designed with the consumer in mind. She started out with the T series, which started out as just a screw. However, after seeing how much people loved this product, she decided to make a switch and add a nail file and saw as well. The combination of all these tools allow for complete customization to your garden equipment. You can use them for pruning limbs or even for shaping plants.
With the Garden Shears by Screwfix, you have the option of purchasing them already fixed or having them customized. I don’t know about you, but customization is an option that appeals to me! It allows you to create the garden shears that best suites you and your lifestyle. If you want to be able to fix them yourself, this is a great choice. But if you want to be able to swap out the handles on your screwfix shears on a whim, or change the blades to something else altogether, customization is the way to go.
Some of the features incorporated into the screwfix line of tools include: customization, durability, and safety. These are all great points. As far as customization goes, this is easily done. There are over a hundred and twenty different handle designs that can be changed out for different looks. You can also get custom screws to go with your garden shears.
I find that these tools are extremely durable. Not only do they stand up to regular use, but they also last for a very long time. This means that you don’t have to keep changing your garden shears as often. With some brands, the screws may start to come loose after a while and you’ll need to replace them. With the screwfix tools, it’s a matter of exchanging them with another set (if you want a different blade) and keeping the tools properly maintained.
Safety is something to think about as well. The shears are not going to perform like a traditional saw when you’re in a hurry or you’re using it incorrectly. But if you take the time to learn how to use them and practice with them, you’ll find that you don’t have to worry about injuries as often. And that’s always a good thing.
All in all, I think that screwfix tools are an excellent investment. They provide a lot of value and are a great option if you have limited space (or even no space at all!) and cannot afford to buy a brand new set of garden shears.
